Just a few little tidbits to make your charter
more pleasant, for you and the crew.

Please do's and don'ts . . .


  • Listen to safety rules outlined by the crew.

  • Bring soft luggage.

  • Take shoes off when boarding.

  • Be careful with suntan lotions.  Leave oils at home.

  • Smoke only where permitted.

  • Don't bring sand aboard.

  • Use fresh water conservatively.

  • Follow head (toilet) instructions to the letter.

  • Stay out of the galley unless invited.

  • Remember this is often the full time home of the crew.  Treat it and them accordingly.

  • Conserve electricity .

  • When in doubt, ask.

The business end . . .

When you reach a decision on the yacht and the dates,
your charter broker will immediately:

  • contact the clearing house 

  • confirm the yacht' s availability

  • reserve the yacht for you

  • send you a contract for the yacht and dates

  • request  you send a 50% deposit



The charter generally begins and ends at noon.  If final payment has not been made prior to arrival at the yacht, offer it immediately.  It should be in cash or travelers checks.  You may pay the entire amount in advance.
